Wednesday TV Wrap: Attenborough’s Seven Worlds Tops All Key Demos With 772,000 Views (Despite Unfortunate Animal Noise Mix-Up)

Nine won the night in audience share (30.6 per cent) last night, which can largely be attributed to the success of David Attenborough’s Seven Worlds, One Planet, which was watched by 772,000 Aussies, according to OzTAM metro numbers.

The show also ranked number one with all key demos and handed Nine an easy win with its primary channel also ranking number one with all key demos and total people.

This is all despite an unfortunate animal noise mix-up that saw the wrong animal noises used. Footage in the recent episode focused on the rare Andean bears scaling the trees of the Ecuadorian cloud forest. However, the sound didn’t quite match up with the images, as the soundtrack used was instead one of the country’s most common bird sounds.

Later in the show, two Andean bears were seen on a tree branch, but the sound dubbed over the footage was once again from a different species.

It’s been reported the episode will be re-edited with the new and correct versions re-uploaded to BBC iPlayer.

Following Nine in overall audience share was Seven (27.9 per cent), ABC (18.7 per cent) 10 (14.8 per cent) and SBS (8.0 per cent).

The most-watched show of the night was Seven’s 6pm news with 932,000. Other standouts for the network included Home And Away (552,000), The Chase (529,000), The Good Doctor (450,000) and Zumbo’s Just Desserts (385,000).

Nine’s best was its 6pm news (775,000), ACA (651,000), Hot Seat (481,000) and a screening of Red Dog – True Blue (316,000).

10’s night ran thus: The Project (442,000 ) – which was number across its time slot in all key demos, and 10 News First (365,000).
