Despite 1.8 million confirmed COVID-19 cases and over 68,000 deaths from the virus, parts of the US have started to reopen again in recent days.
One such location is sunny Florida, where residents have been flocking to the beaches to celebrate the end of lockdown restrictions.
But not everyone is pleased with the decision to reopen the beaches.
Florida lawyer and resident Daniel W. Uhlfelder decided to take to the beach dressed as the Grim Reaper in protest of the move as part of his “Grim Reaper Beach Tour” on Friday.
As a result, Uhlfelder delivered the following utterly bizarre and only in America interview with a local TV station.

“I’m here today to try to make a point that it’s premature to open our beaches,” he told the cameras, dressed as the embodiment of death.
“I’m a huge proponent of public beaches and I’ve been fighting for that for years.
“It’s too soon and it’s not appropriate.”
Uhlfelder is concerned about the amount of testing currently in place in Florida and believes health professionals are not ready to deal with the pandemic.
“I fear the worst,” he said. “If by dressing up as the ‘Grim Reaper’ and walking our beaches I can make people think and potentially help save a life, that is the right thing to do.”
