As part of the ‘Take your Seat at the Table’ campaign, The Brand Agency and the WA Electoral Commission have commissioned eight original artworks from young Western Australian artists.

The aim of the campaign is to help encourage young voters to make their voice heard in the upcoming state election.

Following a public call-out, the artists were chosen for diversity in their artwork style, backgrounds and location, with many of them also being first-time voters.

The chosen artists; Annabel Haizer, Jarni McGuire, Jasmine Koong, Jasmine Lewis, Jordan Fitzgerald, Madison Guidone, Roshan Ratna and Taylor Kahlenberg have each completed a piece in their own style and medium that encourages their peers to vote.

Brand Agency copywriter Anneliese Sullivan said, “we needed to engage our youngest audience in a way that would resonate with them and felt organic in their social spaces.”

“True democracy only works when we all participate, so it was exciting to commission a diverse group of young artists and allow them to inspire their peers in their own unique way.”

The works will be shared across social media and the artists’ own channels as part of the overarching campaign. They will also be printed on tote bags and stickers for new voters, to be distributed via key community and education bodies.
