Mark Zuckerberg Hits Back At Apple CEO’s Attack On Facebook Business Model

Facebook chieftain Mark Zuckerberg has returned serve at Apple chief executive Tim Cook over his criticism of the social media giant’s business model.

In a recent interview on MSNBC, Cook said that unlike Facebook, Apple would never sell customer data as a product to advertisers, describing as a “human right” and a “civil liberty”.

“If our customer was our product, we could make a ton of money. We’ve elected not to do that,” he said.

When asked what he would do if in a similar position to Zuckerberg right now (dealing with Facebook’s data scandal involving Cambridge Analytica), Cook said: “I wouldn’t be in this situation”.

However, Zuckerberg has hit back at the criticism from Cook on a podcast, describing Apple CEO’s comments as “not at all aligned with the truth”.

“I find that argument, that if you’re not paying that somehow we can’t care about you, to be extremely glib,” Zuckerberg said.
