Tribal Apes Unveils Aussie-First Live Streaming Studio

Tribal Apes has announced the launch of Tribal Live, Australia’s first purpose-built live-streaming studio and master control room situated at Fox Studios Australia.

Equipped with IP infrastructure, Tribal Live will turbo-charge the production of video content by providing a pipeline for publishers, brands and content creators to produce video quickly and cost-effectively.

The master control room is the heart of Tribal Live’s pipeline. It’s equipped with an 8-M/E 24 channel broadcast video switcher with DVE effects, media players, broadcast titles, 3D graphics, and a motion composition engine with VR and AR set functionality.

Tribal Live also has the power to live stream multi-camera productions across digital channels and social media platforms, including YouTube, Twitch, Facebook, Twitter, Microsoft Azure, U Stream, FTP, LinkedIn, Imgur, Vid.me and Periscope. Thanks to Fox Studios Australia’s standalone fibre connectivity, Tribal Live can access upload speeds of 40Gps.

The master control room is equipped with IP infrastructure that allows for a ‘remote production’ service. This means any device, anywhere in the world, can be converted into a live studio input, so long as it’s connected to the internet with cameras and audio being the only units in the field while the production is switched and streamed from the studio at Fox.

Tribal Apes broadcast producer at and co-founder Bruce Dawson said: “Using our live pipeline to produce on-demand content, Tribal Live can help clients skip post-production, reduce production costs and reach audiences first.

“Whether it’s live sport or a multi-camera behind-the-scenes show similar to the one MTV produced for the VMAs, IP infrastructure makes live event coverage more affordable and opens up the number and type of events that can be covered.

“Being able to stream broadcast-quality productions over digital channels and social media platforms also provides new distribution and commercial opportunities”, says Dawson

Wayne Borg, CEO and managing director of Fox Studios Australia, said: “Fox Studios Australia is excited to be supporting Tribal Apes with their new initiative, Tribal Live, which utilises leading streaming technology that is supported by our high speed connectivity.”

IGN, EA Games and Disney Channel Australia and SKIPI.TV are already using the studio.
