Workit Spaces Launches Aussie First ‘Beyond The Store’ Web Series

Sydney-based co-working startup, Workit Spaces, announced today the launch of ‘Beyond The Store’, a six-part web series to uncover the smarts and passion behind successful Australian eCommerce businesses.

Workit Spaces has gone where no other coworking hub has gone before, by investing over $100,000 to tell the stories of six Australian eCommerce businesses and how they navigated the highs and lows of developing a product, launched and grew an e-commerce business during a pandemic.

Head of customer success, Lisa Martens said, “Workit is committed to investing significant time and resources into this project because it’s time we shone a light on the reality – the grit and determination, the uncertainty and joy – of building eCommerce businesses.”

Australian online businesses are competing more than ever to gain traction after the COVID-19 pandemic caused a surge in online purchases.

The cost of digital ads have increased 20 per cent on average, with more brands competing for online shoppers. Beyond The Store provides a relatable resource for startups, aspiring founders and eCommerce leaders by revealing the challenges Australian businesses face and offers insight into a rapidly changing industry.

With $50.46 billion spent online by Australians last year, it’s about time these stories were told. Beyond The Store is even more ambitious in scope and production than Workit Spaces’ Covid Reality Video Series that launched in 2020.

The first episode features Jana and Bill Baramilis of Livani hair care.

The premiere follows the journey of a product six years in the making and the real world environmental problems Jana and Bill had to overcome.

Episodes will drop monthly until the end of the year. Future episodes will follow the stories of a hightech Australian start-up that grew so popular they couldn’t keep up with demand and a boutique beauty brand with a cult following.
