Tuesday TV Wrap: SAS Knifes The Block, As Seven & Nine Share Rare Dead Heat

Seven must be loving the press SAS Australia is getting at the moment, but not that it’s necessarily translated to viewers for the oddball reality show.

Last night’s second SAS outing posted 795,000 eyeballs according to OzTAM metro numbers, making it slightly down on Monday’s debut that had 834,000.

In better news for Seven, SAS has managed to knock over the typically robust The Block, Nine’s reno show posting a very close 793,000.

10’s Junior MasterChef (470,000) struggled against the stiff competition.

Nine’s Donald Trump doco The Trump Show managed 483,000.

All this meant we had a dead heat for audience share last night. Seven and Nine both posting 27.9 per cent (all channels). 10 did 19.2 per cent, the ABC had 16.5 per cent and SBS enjoyed a mere 8.5 per cent.

Seven’s 6pm news bulletin (968,000) beat Nine’s version (909,000) and ACA did 775,000.

The Project was 10’s best performer for the evening – it enjoyed 486,000; while 10 News First did a neat 300K.

The ABC’s night went this way: 7pm news (671,000), 7.30 (560,000), Outback Ringer (397,000) and Big Weather (And How To Survive It) pulled a disappointing 371,000.

Over at Seven, Home And Away had 671,000 and The Chase did 515,000. Nine’s Hot Seat wasn’t overly hot, it only managed a cool 451,000.
