Lewis Capaldi To Perform On Sydney Harbour For Nova’s Red Room
Nova’s Red Room returns with another huge international artist, award winning singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi, performing live and exclusively in Sydney for fans on Tuesday 22 November.
One of the biggest artists in the world right now, Scottish singer-songwriter Lewis Capaldi will take to the stage to perform his biggest hits, as well as his latest single ‘Forget Me’ from his second album ‘Broken By Desire To Be Heavenly Sent’ that will be released on 19 May.
Lewis Capaldi said, “Honestly so so buzzing to be returning to the Red Room stage for Nova’s Red Room in Sydney!!! Sydney’s one of my favourite places to visit and get all sexy and loose, can’t wait to be back over next month to see ya all! P.S. buy my tour tickets thanks I want to be Australia’s next top model x.”
Adam Johnson, NOVA Entertainment’s chief growth officer said, “2022 is proving to be an amazing year for Nova’s Red Room and they don’t come much bigger than Lewis Capaldi. We are delighted to be partnering with Universal Music and Destination NSW to bring together what will undoubtably be one of the best live music events of the year. Nova’s Red Room connects music fans with some of the hottest and best local and international artists, performing in unique and often unexpected venues so we can’t wait to share this experience. Working with TikTok for the first time allows us to extend Nova’s Red Room’s reach and impact, with Nova’s Red Room neon sign to be seen globally on one of the world’s biggest social platforms.”
Nova’s Red Room has partnered with Universal Music Australia and Destination NSW for Lewis’ only Australian performance outside of his appearance at the upcoming ARIA Awards. Performing live from the iconic Sydney Harbour, Nova’s Red Room live from Sydney will create an unforgettable experience and will be the live music event of the year.
Minister for Tourism and the Arts Ben Franklin said, “Lewis Capaldi is a global star whose music connects with millions around the world. His Australian exclusive performance in Sydney for Nova’s Red Room, against the incredible backdrop of Sydney Harbour will showcase the Harbour City as a global stage for world-class entertainers. Lewis Capaldi is another fantastic addition to the incredible line up of events we are creating for Sydney this summer, which is a key pillar of our commitment to make Sydney and NSW the major events capital and premier visitor economy of the Asia Pacific.”
While Nova’s Red Room is a live experience, for the first time NOVA’s partnership with TikTok will provide a platform to allow Lewis Capaldi’s 3.8 million followers to be able to experience this special event on an international stage. For any fans not able to attend this live event, the performance will be available by downloading The Nova Player.
“Lewis Capaldi is not only a musician whose music can hit you in the feels, he’s also regularly hitting (or tickling) people in the funny bone on TikTok. Artists of all levels are able to connect with audiences on TikTok livestreams and we’re really excited to bring the feels and the funnies with Lewis to fans around the world” – Ollie Wards, Director of Music TikTok Australia and New Zealand.
Lewis Capaldi return to Nova’s Red Room comes off the back of announcing the release of his highly anticipated new album and his 2023 Australian tour dates. Lewis’ breakthrough single 2019 ‘Someone You Loved’ saw him receive recognition at the Brit Awards, Billboard and the Grammys. It is now the longest-running UK Top 10 single by a British artist and with 2.3 billion plays is the fifth-most streamed song on Spotify of all time.
After sold out shows in 2019, his arena tour was cut short in March 2020 but he continued to promote his single “Before You Go” during lockdown. The single went on to become a chart-topping hit.
Listeners can win their way to attend this exclusive Nova’s Red Room by listening to Nova’s Smallzy’s Surgery, Nova 96.9’s Fitzy & Wippa or by entering via The Nova Player.
Australia’s premier intimate music brand Nova’s Red Room has seen over 300 international and local artists perform live for fans, including Ed Sheeran, Sam Smith, Lizzo, Miley Cyrus, Tones and I and Billie Eilish. Check out previous performances and content from all of Nova’s Red Room events, as well as this latest Nova’s Red Room event, via The Nova Player or on Nova’s socials.
