Danone the leading global food and beverage company and parent company of Two Good Yoghurt, has donated $60,000 to Foodbank Australia following the brand’s successful “Eat Good, Do Good” campaign, which supports access to good food for Aussies in need.

The partnership with Foodbank is aligned with Danone’s mission to bring health through food to as many people as possible, while inspiring healthier and more sustainable eating and drinking practices as part of its “One Planet. One Health” vision.

Foodbank Australia is the country’s largest food and grocery relief organisation. The “Eat Good, Do Good” partnership saw Danone donate 10c to Foodbank from every 150g pot of Two Good yoghurt purchased from retailers; Coles, Woolworths, Metcash and 7-11 between 13th September 2021 until 31st October 2021.

Two Good raised almost $30,000 during the 6-week campaign period from direct product sales, with Danone Australia electing to match the efforts of consumers’ by pledging to take the total donation amount for Foodbank to $60,000. Every dollar donated to Foodbank feeds the equivalent of two Australians in need

According to the Foodbank Hunger Report 2021, 1 in 6 Australian adults did not eat enough in the last year. Danone’s partnership with Foodbank has supported Australians suffering food insecurity, especially after enduring another tough year of the COVID-19 pandemic.

General manager of Danone EDPI Australia, Marjorie Garrovillo, said: “After the amazing response to the “Eat Good, Do Good” campaign and witnessing the positive social impact the donations will have on the community through Foodbank’s work, Danone Australia will match the amount raised to take our total donation to $60,000 for Foodbank.

“This equates to 120,000 meals for Australians in need and is something we are very proud to be supporting. ”

Foodbank Australia, CEO, Brianna Casey, said: “Foodbank is now providing food relief to a record one million people a month, we know many experiencing hardship feel there are others worse off and don’t ask for help. Life happens to us all, and we’re here for everyone, but we couldn’t do it without the ongoing support from Two Good and Danone.

“We have loved seeing the Two Good yoghurt pots turn Foodbank purple for the past six weeks, the campaign has not only raised vital funds for Foodbank, but it has helped raise awareness that hunger is a real problem in a country like Australia.

“Thank you to the entire team behind this successful campaign and to Danone for matching funds raised which will enable Foodbank to provide more than 120,000 meals to people doing it tough right now all over Australia.”
