IRL-Based Dating App Ziinkle Launches Crowd-Funding Campaign To Help Singles Meet More Organically

Aussie dating app Ziinkle has launched a crowd-funding campaign to help bring its GPS-based dating app to market.

Rather than focusing on swiping and liking photos, Ziinkle shows singles how many other singles are at venues, with singles saying that they are tired of online meetups and looking to meet someone in real life.

The startup also said that it does not currently use advertising and its business model is based on app subscriptions and ticketed events. However, the app is free to download and use. It is expanding its revenue streams to include B2B as it partners with businesses “to build communities and drive tangible user engagement with their businesses in real life.”

It currently has almost 10,000 downloads and an average month-on-month user growth of 27 per cent. Ziinkle said it has generated more than $30,000 of additional revenue for businesses partners.

“Our ultimate goal is to establish ourselves as the go-to dating app for those seeking authentic and genuine connections by establishing our own category; aiming to achieve sustainable growth and long-term success. We are backed by experienced business leaders and plan to expand into overseas markets,” said Melanie Leahy, Ziinkle’s co-founder.

Expressions of interest in the crowd-funding campaign are currently open until 6 February.
