“It’s An Important Win For Seven” Seven’s James Warburton On The Networks 2021 Ratings Win

The Seven Network has plenty to smile about, they are wearing the crown as the ratings winner for the year!

James Warburton, managing director and chief executive officer of Seven West Media, told B&T, “It’s really important to win for Seven, for us to go back to number one, with or without The Olympics.”

And while Nine are celebrating its demo win, Warburton is clear that Seven took home the crown, he said: “You can spin anything you want in terms of who won this or who won that, but more viewers watched us more than any other network.

“Basically we won everything, including all the core demographics, we probably weren’t good enough for long enough, but we were dominant.”

Warburton is particularly proud of the win considering the year that Australia has had filled with lockdowns and descriptions in routines, Warburton said: “For us, the magnitude of the victory is despite the fact we’ve had setbacks with COVID-19.

“We didn’t have the opportunity to run the full schedule, that really sets where we need to be.”

Naturally, Warburton is happy to break down the network wins, “It’s been across the board scene news is number. one, Sunrise 18th year in a row. (Today) They didn’t even win a week.”

The Voice was the number one show, Home and Away, the Olympics, the AFL,  it’s a combination..”

As for how the network plans to stay on top, more of the same! The network will have classics like Farmer Wants A Wife and of course The Winter Olympic, but if something isn’t broke, why fix it?
