Sunday TV Wrap: Big Night Of True Crime, And Also Young Talent Time

Last night, the Seven Network showed a number of true crime programs.

7News: The Disappearance of William Tyrrell had 689,000 viewers, while season two of Martin Clunes drama Manhunt: The Night Stalker had 447,000 and 440,000 viewers for episodes one and two respectively.

The show was originally broadcast in the UK by ITV, and is based on the real life records of detective Colin Sutton.

On a slightly more lighthearted note, 10 also had a new doco: Young Talent Time Unmasked, a 50th birthday look-back at the show that made Tina Arena and Danii Minogue household names.

Looking at the rest of entertainment, last night’s The Masked Singer reveal saw an increased audience from previous episodes, scoring 762,000 viewers as per OzTAM’s metro data.

The rest of the ep had 581,000 viewers.

However, the revelation of Kyle Sandilands and actual bonafide Grammy-award-winning singer Macy Gray as last night’s hidden talents was not enough to beat The Block.

Nine’s prime time entertainment had great numbers, with 1,074,000 viewers as Mitch and Mark walked off the show in response to the judges’ feedback on their kitchen. Drama!

The Block was the second most viewed show of the evening after Seven News, which had 1,110,000 viewers.

Nine News had 1,046,000, while ABC News had 648,000 viewers and 60 Minutes had 583,000.

The rest of 10’s night saw The Sunday Project score 450,000 viewers while 10 News First had 340,000.

For the ABC, Restoration Australia had 453,000 viewers, Fires had 354,000, Insiders had 320,000 and Landline had 279,000.

On Nine, the late news had 300,000 viewers, and on Seven, Weekend Sunrise had 261,000.

The Nine Network won the night with 32 per cent of the daily share, followed by the Seven Network with 28.3 per cent. Next was Network 10 with 18.8 per cent, the ABC TV Network with 14.2 per cent and the SBS Network with 6.8 per cent.

Looking now to OzTAM’s Total TV numbers for Sunday September 19th, on top was Seven News with a total audience of 1,708,000 (metro: 1,110,000, regional: 563,000, BVOD: 34,000).
