IPG To Demand Staff Are Vaccinated Or Fully Tested Before Office Return

Interpublic Group will demand staff be vaccinated or undergo testing before returning to the office.

According to reports, CEO Philippe Krakowsky (main photo) sent a memo to all staff at IPG’s US agencies outlining his plan.

The memo, seen and reported on by US industry site PRWeek, outlined Krakowsky’s plans to get staff back to the office.

However, it remains unclear if the plan also includes IPG’s Australian offices and B&T has sought clarification.

It also follows news today of GroupM Australia announcing initiatives to encourage all its staff to be fully vaccinated by the end of the year. Read B&T’s reporting here.

Krakowsky has ordered that staff must either be fully vaccinated or provide a negative COVID result from a test taken within 72 hours of being in the office. Meaning those who refuse to get jabbed would need to be tested twice a week.

Masks will also be mandatory in common areas of IPG offices.

Adding to that, IPG has announced further measures to combat COVID including improved ventilation, more cleaning services, less dense seating arrangements and the use of digital booking tools to assist with social distancing.

Krakowsky’s memo read: “These policies, which will be instituted in the coming weeks, seek to ensure our collective good health and peace of mind.”
