Media Watch’s Paul Barry In Hospital After Cycling Accident, As ABC Announces Temporary Replacement

Media Watch host Paul Barry has been tweeting from his hospital bed after being in a car accident.

The host was riding his bike when a car backed into him. Unfortunately, Barry has sustained serious injuries from the accident, a broken hand and pelvis – ouch!

Thankfully, his love of media analysis seems to still be intact.

While recovering in hospital, Barry has been tweeting from his sickbed, weighing in on everything from COVID-19 vaccines to Rupert Murdoch.

Sadly, Barry won’t be hosting Media Watch from his bedside, instead, he will be taking four weeks off to recover.

Meanwhile, Media Watch has announced that journalist Jeremy Fernandez will be filling in this week.

While Barry has been met with a flood of support and well wishes online.

Twitter users have also taken it upon themselves to poke fun at Barry’s contentious relationship with Sky News.

Thankfully, Barry should be back to his media watchdog duties in a month.
