Sunday TV Wrap: Australian Survivor Brains V Brawn Launch Nets 750,000 Viewers

Another week, another entertainment launch. Last night was 10’s Australian Survivor: Brains V Brawn. 

It launched to 752,000 viewers, lower than Nine’s Beauty and the Geek, which launched last Sunday to 808,000 viewers. However, Survivor saw an impressive launch increase from last year, which had 624,000.

Overall last night, Beauty and the Geek managed to beat Australian Survivor with a viewership of  776,000 as per OzTAM’s metro data.

Eyes will be on Survivor this week to see if it grows or slows.

Farmer Wants A Wife (which launched to 820,000 viewers) came in third for entertainment with 709,000 viewers, its best perfoming night since launch.

Leading the pack was Seven News, which had 1,219,000 viewers, while Nine News Sunday had 1,127,000 and ABC News had 794,000.

Seven’s Sunday arvo AFL also scored decently, with 591,000 viewers, as did ABC’s Grand Designs at 582,000.

The rest of the ABC’s night saw a repeat of Innocent bag 444,000 viewers while the morning’s COVID-19 update had 359,000. Insiders had 302,000.

For Nine, 60 Minutes had 516,000 viewers, Nine News: Late Edition had 360,000 viewers and the Sunday NRL match had 307,000.

Over on 10, The Project had 506,000 and 10 News First had 360,000 viewers.

Finally, for Seven, 7News Spotlight: Delta On-Board had 381,000 viewers while The Latest: Seven News and Weekend Sunrise had 308,000 and 307,000 respectively.

It was an exceedingly tight race for control of the daily share. The Seven Network just eked out a lead with 27.6 per cent, whlie the Nine Network had 27.2 per cent. In third was Network 10 with 21.3 per cent, while the ABC TV Network had 14.9 per cent and the SBS Network had 9.0 per cent.
