Grill’d has launched four new Healthy Fried Chicken (HFC) Burgers onto their menu and revealed the recipe to the HFC Classic Burger to the public to prove there are no secrets or hidden nasties when it comes to the ingredients used.

The recipe can be found on the Grill’d website, Instagram and Facebook.

Just like the rest of the Grill’d menu, the HFC Burger range is 100 per cent natural with no artificial colours, flavours or preservatives, cooked in Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil, and uses gluten free HFC made with just RSPCA Approved chicken breast, free from hormones and chemicals.

The whole burger can be gluten free if ordered on a low carb or gluten free bun.

Grill’d entered the fried chicken game last year with the launch of HFC Bites to shake things up and provide an innovative, healthier and natural take on much-loved, fried chicken nuggets.

HFC has been one of the most successful product launches in Grill’d history and the product franchise now accounts for 15 per cent of Grill’d’s daily sales, proving that customers are increasingly opting for the healthier alternative. The natural progression was to create a range of HFC Burgers that would respond to the huge customer demand.

  • HFC Classic: Healthy Fried Chicken with dill pickles, cos lettuce and egg mayo
  • HFC BLAT: Healthy Fried Chicken with crispy bacon, avocado, cos lettuce, tomato and herbed mayo
  • HFC Smokey: Healthy Fried Chicken with dill pickles, slaw, Spanish onion and chipotle mayo
  • HFC Hot: Healthy Fried Chicken with Grill’d Hawthorn hot sauce, jalapenos, slaw, shredded carrot, Spanish onion and egg mayo

When it comes to its Healthy Fried Chicken (HFC) and burgers, Grill’d doesn’t believe in secrets – herbs, spices or otherwise, and has always given customers full access to the ingredients breakdown in their burgers.

With nothing to hide, and strictly no MSG, Grill’d has now made the recipe to its HFC Classic Burger publicly available so that customers can see for themselves that the HFC burgers are the real deal and only contain the freshest, natural Australian ingredients.

Simon Crowe, Grill’d Founder, said, “some recipes are kept secret for a reason, but not ours. We took the path less travelled and did things the right way. We could have taken short cuts and fried our chicken in Canola oil like the Colonel, but instead we choose to use Australian Extra Virgin Olive Oil which is packed with nutrients and natural antioxidants.”

“It’d be easier to use reconstituted chicken but we prefer to use 100 per cent Natural RSPCA Approved Chicken Breast. The easy way to make our chicken taste better would be to use MSG, like KFC’s Secret Recipe, but instead we use nothing but delicious, natural ingredients that our guests can feel good about.”

HFC Burgers are superior in quality and significantly lower in kilojoules per 100g than other fried chicken burger options from fast food giants. HFC is also high in protein, high in fibre, low in saturated and trans fats, an excellent source of Vitamin E, and provides at least seven essential vitamins and minerals.

Grill’d adhere to the Australia New Zealand Food Standards Code when developing health and nutrition content claims, including comparative claims. According to independent lab tests by Food & Nutrition Australia and publicly available nutritional information, per 100g; HFC Classic contains 36 per cent less sugar than McDonald’s McChicken Burger, HFC Classic contains 67 per cent less sugar than KFC Original Recipe Burger, HFC Hot contains 57 per cent less sugar and 25 per cent less carbohydrates than KFC Zinger Burger, and HFC BLAT contains 48 per cent less sugar and 26 per cent less saturated fat than a McDonald’s Crispy Chicken Deluxe.

The HFC burger range is available in all restaurants and channels nationwide.
