MasterChef Judge Melissa Leong Appears To Be In Two Place At Once In Mystery Box Editing Fail

We may be clutching at straws here, but an editing fail is still an editing fail, one that 10’s MasterChef suffered from on Wednesday night.

Eagled-eyed viewers were quick to call out some poor editing when judge Melissa Leong was noticed in two places at once, suggesting the footage was cut up to produce a misleading sequence in order to build suspense.

Despite the fact MasterChef is indeed reality TV, it’s typically quite good with its editing and trusted for its accurate depiction of the cooking challenges.

Nearing the end of the mystery box challenge, Leong was counting down at the front of the studio in one scene, then in the next scene was behind Reynold Poernomo.

Judge Andy Allen shouted “Two minutes to go,” as the cast sped up to finish their dishes.

First scene…

…straight to second scene

Yet when the camera cut to Reynold, who was running out of time as he attempted to shell his lobster, Leong can be seen standing behind him catching to contestant Callum Hann.

Seconds later, Leong was back at the front of the studio again

“Did anyone else just pick up on that editing fail? Melissa on two sides of the room at once,” tweeted a viewer.

Or maybe, Leong just has superpowers and can be in two places at once. We’ll never really know.
