OMD Sydney & Foxtel Media Offices Given The All-Clear As Coronavirus Test Proves Negative

The visiting English OMD employee that shut down OMD Sydney’s office and put a scare through nearby Foxtel Media following a suspected coronavirus diagnosis has been given the all-clear.

The unidentified staffer visited OMD’s Sydney office in Pyrmont early last week and also visited Foxtel Media’s offices up the road.

He later came down with flu symptoms having passed through Singapore en route to Australia.

As a precaution, OMD’s CEO Aimee Buchanan sent an email to all staff telling them to work from home on Friday and on Monday.

OMD closed its London office as a precaution last Wednesday for 48-hours until the man was diagnosed as negative.

This morning Omnicom Media Group CEO Australia and New Zealand Peter Horgan confirmed to B&T that the staffer was not carrying the COVID-19 virus.

A spokesperson for Foxtel Media also telling B&T that “following this good news its business as usual now for all staff at Foxtel Media”.

Meanwhile, in other coronavirus news, Google has instructed its 8000-strong Dublin office to work from home on yesterday as a “precautionary measure” and was in accordance with the advice of medical experts.

Twitter has recommended its 5,000 employees all begin working from home, while cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase has asked that its employees who consider themselves susceptible to the flu also work from home.
