Crocmedia Resigns As Australian Open Official Radio Broadcast Partner

Crocmedia has resigned a three-year deal to call the action courtside as the official domestic radio broadcast partner.

Announcing a renewal of its radio rights deal with Tennis Australia until 2022, Crocmedia has secured the exclusive AM rights to produce live ball-by-ball commentary of all main draw matches.

The partnership also includes the rights to syndicate to approved additional FM broadcast partners across regional Australia.

Once again in January, Crocmedia’s stations of SEN – 1116 SEN, SEN+, SEN2, SEN3, SEN SA, the SEN app and sen.com.au will feature play-by-play action for two week’s during the Open.

Following the success of 2019, Crocmedia will also work with AO Major Partner Kia to amplify its own call and AO’s internal commentary, AO Radio, with a dedicated tennis channel KIA Presents AO Live.

The integrated broadcast enhances Kia’s long time AO partnership in conjunction with Tennis Australia. It also complements a year-long commitment to tennis within the Crocmedia radio syndication business, including a presence at every major around the world and a dedicated year-round syndicated radio show First Serve in conjunction with leading tennis commentator Brett Phillips.

Pacific Star Network CEO Craig Hutchison said tennis fans would be well served with all the Grand Slam action on SEN over summer.

“We are thrilled to renew our partnerships with Tennis Australia and AO Major Partner Kia for the iconic Australian Open,” Hutchison said.

“We’ll ensure that tennis fans can access all the action across their choice of platforms – including our own and partner networks to make sure it’s the best covered Open on radio ever.”

Kia Motors Australia’s chief operating officer Damien Meredith said Kia was delighted to be part of the broadcast offering again this year.

“Tennis fans of all levels will appreciate having access to a dedicated tennis channel via Kia Presents AO Live,” Meredith said.

“As always, Kia is excited by any opportunity to further enhance our association with this great event.”

Australian Open tournament director Craig Tiley was also pleased with the partnership.

“We look forward to again working with SEN as they take the excitement of the Australian Open to fans across the country,” he said
