Sunday TV Wrap: The ABC’s Drama ‘Total Control’ Finds Its Feet (& Viewer Eyeballs)

In top news for Aussie dramas, the ABC’s political thriller Total Control was the second most watched entertainment show of Sunday, pipped only by Nine’s resilient The Block.

Debuting three weeks ago, Total Control pulled 558,000 according to OzTAM metro numbers.

On the back of The Block (1.131 million), Nine easily won Sunday with 35.1 per cent of the audience eyeballs (all channels). Seven had 25.8 per cent, ABC nicked third and 16.9 per cent, 10 had to settle for 13.4 per cent and SBS did 8.8 per cent.

In the battle of the 6pm news bulletins, Seven (919,000) had bragging rights over Nine (842,000).

Nine’s 60 Minutes (529,000) returned the favour, beating the struggling and soon to be deceased, Sunday Night (382,000).

Other highlights for Seven included Bride And Prejudice (422,000) and A Confession (229,000).

10 did well with The Sunday Project (318,000), The Graham Norton Show (318,000) and NCIS (280,000).

Other doers for the ABC included its 7pm news (653,000) and Grand Designs (489,000).

Trains again did the business for SBS, Secrets Of The Railway its best with 212,000. And that was Sunday.
