Nine’s Ninja Success Forces Seven To Postpone Little Big Shots

Nine’s Ninja Success Forces Seven To Postpone Little Big Shots

The roaring success of Nine’s Australian Ninja Warrior has forced the Seven Network to postpone its new Sunday night show Little Big Shots.

The kiddie talent show, hosted by Shane Jacobson, was due to kickoff this Sunday night at 7pm and has been heavily promoted by the network.

A new broadcast time for show has yet to be announced by Seven.

In a statement sent to B&T, Seven’s director of programming, Angus Ross, said: “We want to screen Little Big Shots to the biggest audience possible and attempting to split the family audience with Ninja does not feel like a smart play.”

Only three episodes in, Nine’s Ninja Warrior has thus far been a rating bonanza. Its Sunday night debut snared almost 1.7 million viewers and was the most watched non-sport TV show of 2017. Monday night’s episode pulled 1.6 million, while last night it managed a very respectable 1.47 million viewers.

Seven had no doubt noted the kicking Ninja gave to its own House Rules finale on Sunday and the viewer pummelling it handed to Ten’s MasterChef.

However, as B&T reported yesterday, it’s not been all plain sailing for Ninja Warrior with a number of viewers describing the show’s hosts as “abysmal”.
