Joy Agency’s ECD Steve Back Heads For The Exits After Two Years

Joy Agency’s ECD Steve Back Heads For The Exits After Two Years

Sydney-based creative Joy Agency is on the lookout for a new ECD after incumbent Steve Back (pictured above) announced he was leaving for as yet undisclosed new gig.

B&T has sought comment from Back regarding his new role but is yet to receive a reply.

Back is one of the local industry’s shining stars and his departure will be a huge loss to the agency who counts ARN, Boost Mobile, Hachette and Nike as clients.

Back joined Joy in February 2015 following stints as CCO at Ogilvy in Australia and Singapore, and a previous stint as ECD at Saatchi & Saatchi from November 2007 to December 2010 where he replaced David Nobay before he departed to start up Droga5.

Among his trophy cabinet, Back claims a Cannes Lions, D&AD, The One Show and a Webby Award. In 2010, he created Toyota’s famed “Nothing Gets In” (above) campaign that took home two of the eight Gold Lions awarded in the Promotion And Activation category at Cannes that year.
