The Shovel Monkeys Around With MLA Lamb Ad

There’s been such drama in recent weeks about Meat & Livestock Australia’s Australia Day ad featuring Lee Lin Chin – mainly that those who don’t eat meat are offended by the torching of a vegan’s home in the ad – even hilarious satire site The Shovel has gotten in on the action.

We had a right old chuckle at the story, so we thought we’d share it with our audience for a Thursday afternoon giggle too.

The article takes a tongue-in-cheek approach saying people who prefer chicken are now being offended by the lamb ad.

Quoting fictional Meredith Green from the Chicken Eaters Association, she says: “To produce an ad promoting lamb without considering those of us who eat chicken is grossly inappropriate.”

“How far have we really come if we are still seeing the same old meats being promoted, without any thought for the millions of Australians who have made a choice to eat chicken?”

It’s rather funny. And we should point out, we 100 per cent understand the article is satire.
