Mick Fanning’s Shark Ordeal Spoofed In KFC Ad

KFC has ripped off the dramatic scene of Australian surfer Mick Fanning fighting off a great white share for the fast food company’s ‘Jacked Up Double Crunch’ burger.

The South African campaign shows a Fanning look-a-like surfing fighting off the shark by picking it up and holding it above his head one-handed as he surfs to shore.

B&T previously reported that the shark attack had made Fanning the most marketable sports person on the planet.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting Fanning’s mother Elisabeth Osborne is very upset with the ad and the World Surf League is preparing to take legal action against KFC.

“I think it is very disrespectful,” she said. “They’ve put a lookalike in the video. It really brings back a lot of trauma for everybody who has been attacked by a shark.

“Some families have had fatalities and some people are still absolutely scarred without limbs. It’s disrespectful to them and Mick is not at all happy with that.”
