Spotify Expands Its End Of Year Wrapped Feature With Roblox, Snapchat, FC Barcelona Partnerships

It’s that time of year again, the day when Spotify reminds you of all the terrible songs you’ve listened to as you’re contending with your sense of purpose on the commute to work.

But we’re not here to talk about your penchant for Post Malone or your secret Taylor Swift obsession. This year, Spotify has made its Wrapped feature bigger, bringing some huge brands into the fold.

Listeners will be able to share their Wrapped cards across WhatsApp and Asia-focused communication app Line. Similarly, users can unlock a personalized Snapchat lens that reflects their Listening Personality, as well as a Wrapped-themed apparel for Bitmojis, and Wrapped-themed GIFs anywhere that GIPHY is integrated.

Earlier this year, Spotify became the first music-streaming service to launch in Roblox. Now, it is expanding its Spotify Island metaverse service with WonderWrapped on Roblox. There will be Wrapped-inspired quests, games, and virtual merch, and with photo booth opportunities with 12 different artists including Bizarrap, Black Sherif, Calvin Harris, CRO, Doechii, Eslabon Armado, Miranda Lambert, NIKI, NewJeans, Stray Kids, SUNMI, and Tove Lo.

Spotify, front-of-shirt sponsor for Catalan soccer giants FC Barcelona, is taking over the club’s mammoth Camp Nou stadium. Fans will be able to see 2022 Wrapped videos from some of their favorite players, including Poland’s Robert Lewandowski, Spanish wunderkind Pedri, and FC Barcelona Femení star Alexia Putellas.

Last year, Spotify launched artist messages, which saw 100 artists give end-of-year thank-you videos from their top artists. This year, 40,000 artists will be shooting out videos to their top fans.

For fear of ridicule from our own colleagues, B&T staffers will not be sharing our Spotify Wrapped playlists this year.
