Nine Calls In The Recruiters As Search For Hugh Marks’ Replacement Heats Up

Nine has hired the help of recruitment company Spencer Stuart and Associates, as it begins its search for a new CEO.

According to the Herald, Spencer Stuart and Associates has already been in touch with potential candidates in the last week.

Nine has said it will look both internally and externally for a replacement.

Much of the discussion around Marks’ successor has focused on an internal replacement, with Stan boss Mike Sneesby and Nine’s head of publishing and digital Chris Janz both linked to the role.

Names like former Network Ten boss Paul Anderson and former Seven CEO Tim Worner, as well as Foxtel’s Amanda Laing, SBS’s Michael Ebeid and FetchTV boss Scott Lorson also mentioned.

Marks confirmed his departure from the company two weeks ago, following news of his relationship with commercial director Alexi Baker, who left Nine late September.

He is expected to stay in the role until June 2021.
