“He Is From Another Planet”: Calls For Lionel Messi’s Jersey To Go In NASA Museum Via VMLY&R Argentina

Argentinian footballer Lionel Messi has achieved everything there is to accomplish in the sport.

He’s won just about every trophy there is to win for both Barcelona and Argentina across a stellar career.

But according to one Argentinian newspaper, Messi’s latest achievement is out of this world – literally.

Following Messi’s 700th career goal in Barcelona’s 2-2 draw against Atletico Madrid, the Diario Ole called for the footballer to be instated to the NASA museum.

The open letter reads as follows:

“Dear NASA, We are Ole, Argentina’s sports newspaper. We are writing on behalf of the most Argentinians but also of all fans, players and managers around the world.

“Lionel Messi has won dozens of trophies and distinctions, and to top it all he’s just scored 700 goals during his footballing career. We think it’s time he receives a tribute in accordance with his soccer stature.

“Messi has spent his whole career proving that he is from another planet. Fans, managers and players all over the world have constantly confirmed this theory.

“That’s why we think this extraterrestrial’s shirt belongs to Cape Canaveral’s Museum. It could be displayed next to a piece of meteorite, the Apollo 11, or something like that.

“It would be a small step for soccer but a giant step for mankind. Looking forward to hearing from you. A big goal hug. Let’s put Messi’s shirt where it belongs.”
