Venessa Hunt Promoted To GroupM ANZ Chief Digital Strategy Officer

Venessa Hunt has been promoted to chief digital strategy officer at GroupM Australia and New Zealand.

Prior to her promotion, Hunt was digital strategy and investment officer. She started her career at GroupM as head of mobile in 2016, before being promoted to head of digital investment and partnerships.

Her promotion reflects GroupM’s move to double down on its capabilities and focus on digital strategy, an area which is becoming increasingly important to brands.

On her promotion, GroupM ANZ CEO Mark Lollback told B&T: “Venessa continues to oversee digital strategy at group level reporting into our chief investment officer Nicola Lewis, and working in close collaboration with our chief technology & transformation officer Cameron King, digital leads across GroupM Agencies and our media partners to ensure GroupM pushes the boundaries and delivers our clients market leading digital expertise.”

Hunt is also currently the board director at UnLtd. – the advertising industry’s social good arm. She’s previously worked at Yahoo7, Nine and Appsnack.

Hunt’s promotion follows GroupM’s recent Hasbro win following a global media review. The account is worth $225 million, with GroupM Australia’s Mediacom running the account, which B&T understands is worth $6m locally.
