Wednesday TV Wrap: Nine Stumps Rivals On The Back Of Cricket One-Dayer

Coverage of last night’s one-dayer between England and Australia in England on Nine’s 9GEM has helped the network to a Wednesday night TV win.

Nine won the night with 27.8 per cent audience share thanks namely to late-night cricket fans (England won by three wickets). Seven had to settle with a close second and 27.4 per cent share. Ten nabbed third with 19.9 per cent, the ABC had 18.1 per cent and SBS had 6.8 per cent.

When it came to the reality shows, MasterChef again came out on top with 860,000 and Seven’s House Rules had 732,000.

Seven won the battle of the 6pm news bulletins, beating rival Nine 1.06 million to 977,000, respectively. A Current Affair had a bit of an off night, managing 731,000.

Young Sheldon (631,000) and Hot Seat (545,000) were the other highlights of Nine’s night.

Over at Ten, The Project pulled 570,000 and the returning Madam Secretary didn’t interest too many viewers, managing only 209,000.

The ABC’s night went thus: Gruen (745,000), ABC News (704,000), The Weekly with Charlie Pickering (640,000), Julia Zemiro’s Home Delivery (591,000), 7:30 (530,000) and Think Tank (270,000). While SBS’ best was Untold Story with 210,000.
