Audi Will Pick Itself Up And Move Forward After VW Scandal: Aus MD

Luxury car brand Audi is dusting off the impact of the recent emissions scandal from parent company Volkswagen, with Aussie managing director Andrew Doyle saying the brand will pick itself up.

The Volkswagen scandal came to light a few weeks ago, when it was found the car manufacturer was altering the results of its diesel emissions during the testing phase. It had been cheating emissions tests in the US.

The scandal completely rocked the automotive industry, with much wrath director at VW. However, it did help the social media following for VW.

As one of the car brands within the VW entity, Audi too was subject to scrutiny.

Speaking at InStyle Magazine’s Men of Style event in Sydney last night, of which Audi was the main sponsor, Doyle said the brand resonated with style.

“Style means a lot of things to Audi as a brand,” he said. “For us it means great design, great versatility, it means acting with confidence, it means always giving your very, very best performance.

“We as well, don’t always get it right.

“Many of you have probably been reading the news the past three weeks and heard about our global parent company, and some of the disappointment that we’ve seen with some of customers over the diesel emissions right now.

“But for Audi, when we talk about things like style, that means about being able to pick yourself back up again, move forwards, even when those times are tough.

“That’s what we’re doing as a brand and globally, and of course definitely here in Australia, looking forward to the future. We are progressive premium brand and that’s what a progressive premium brand should do.”

Doyle also announced singer on the brink of international stardom, Conrad Sewell, was the Face of the Future for InStyle and Audi.

The event attracted many a-stylish people, where InStyle editor-in-chief Emily Taylor also revealed superstar Dani Minogue as the cover for the November issue, which hits the stands today.
