Toby Hemming has departed WPP, less than 12 months after starting as the group’s head of communications and marketing.
Hemming’s departure comes less than a month after former WPP AUNZ CEO Jens Monsees stood down from his role.
Hemming was brought in to WPP to work closely with Monsees, with the former CEO at the time saying “[Hemming’s] entrepreneurial abilities, commercial strategy and digital communication experience will be a core part of WPP AUNZ’s ongoing success”.
WPP AUNZ was recently delisted from the ASX, after shareholders voted in favour of a global takeover of local operations.
Earlier this month, WPP revealed it had hired two new comms team members, with Nadia Fidler joining as PR manager and Laura Backhouse as the new internal communications manager.
The departure of Hemming may be one of many, with a source close to the dealings at WPP telling B&T “more heads will roll” in the coming weeks.
WPP has not responded to B&T‘s request for comment at the time of publication.
