Kin Community Australia, in collaboration with B&T, has released the final episode of its Women to Watch video series, which showcases Aussie female YouTube creators.

The series is part of B&T’s recently launched Changing the Ratio initiative and gives an insight into how these successful women run their businesses, connect with their audiences, their passions, and their amazing entrepreneurial spirit.

The final episode features SFX make-up artist and horror specialist Kiana Jones, who is also known as “Freakmo”.

Jones has turned her passion for making special effects make-up videos into a career, working on high-profile movies and TV projects, as well as running workshops for SFX fans.

Her YouTube channel has over 460,000 subscribers and has achieved 83 million views to date.

In the video, Jones explains what she had to learn in order to become a successful YouTuber and the opportunities it has led to.

“I love YouTube because it takes something that I love, my hobby, my passion, and creates it into a business” she says.

“In the past, I don’t even know how you would do that without YouTube as a platform.”

Liz Ferguson, managing director of Kin Community Australia, said Jones has stayed true to her passions for professional level make-up and gore, “and has been able to demonstrate that her videos can have a broader appeal outside of the obvious SFX audience”.

Women to Watch is distributed via YouTube, the B&T website and via email. If you missed the other episodes, you can check them out here, here and here.
