Val Morgan’s 2022 wrap-up was presented by Annaliese Pedavoli, NSW sales director, and it was bubbling with heartening facts.

Basically, it is a good time to be invested in Cinema. Popcorn, lights, camera and action is still very much connecting with people in Australia.

Cinema has already reached 75 per cent of our annual all-people forecast of 70 million Australians. This is double 2021 admissions, and Val Morgan still has so much more content to come this year.

Plus, Cinema delivered the biggest cultural moments of 2022 with the likes of Batman, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, Jurassic World: Dominion, Elvis, Minions The Rise of Gru, Thor: Love and Thunder alongside two of the biggest films of all time:

Plus, there’s plenty more to come in 2023 with Indiana Jones 5 and Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning Part One heading to cinemas.

The event was a huge reminder that our cultural moments are still very defined by movies. 2022, simply wouldn’t have felt like 2022 without Tom Cruise’s Top Gun.
