Nike Releases Simple But Touching Kobe Bryant Tribute

Nike has released a touching tribute to former NBA player Kobe Bryant in time for the public memorial service honouring Bryant and his daughter Gianna, who died in a tragic helicopter accident last month.

Simple but powerful, the ad uses no images or videos, only audio clips recounting some of the significant moments in Bryant’s life.

Nike shared the video to its Twitter page, simply advising “sound on”.

The two-minute clip tracks Bryant’s rise from a high school player in Pennsylavania through to his five championships with the Lakers.

It also acknowledges his involvement with the WNBA, his time coaching and his famous 2018 Oscar for Best Animated Short Film.

The video ends with a faded yellow ‘Mamba’ – a nod to Bryant’s famous alter-ego.
