QMS Snares APN Outdoor’s Mark Fairhurst For New Sydney GM Role

QMS has snared former APN Outdoor general manager sales, Mark Fairhurst, as its new general manager Sydney.

Fairhurst brings a wealth of senior sales leadership experience and media expertise across a range of media channels and organisations in Out-of-Home, TV, Digital and Publishing, and has a strong history of sales success in the media industry. His appointment is fundamental, as QMS Australia continues to solidify its strategic position as a premium quality digital outdoor media company in Australia.

With more than 20 years’ experience leading large media sales teams, Fairhurst has spent the past fiveyears at APN Outdoor, overseeing a period of significant revenue growth, and was most recently contracted to JC Decaux as integration advisor post its acquisition of APN Outdoor.

QMS Media Limited CEO Barclay Nettlefold said, “We are extremely pleased to have appointed such a highly accomplished senior executive in Mark to help expand our media operations in the critical Sydney market. As an industry recognised sales leader, Mark’s experience and strong client and agency relationships will only further complement our senior sales management team, providing additional support and guidance as we continue to position QMS Australia for future growth.”

John O’Neill, QMS Australia CEO added, “This newly created role is critical to the ongoing success of QMS Australia, as we focus on building on our solid foundations of quality and excellence for our clients. Mark will be instrumental in driving national incremental revenue growth and will work closely with our experienced NSW State Sales Manager, David Sutherland to increase our overall presence in the NSW market.”

Fairhurst added, “I am thrilled to be joining QMS Australia at such an important and exciting time for the business. In a rapidly changing media landscape, clear positioning, a drive for innovation and an absolute focus on service and partnerships really resonates with both agencies and clients. My role is to drive that agenda in the all-important Sydney market.  I look forward to taking up the challenge.”

The appointment takes effect on Tuesday 2nd April 2019.
