Infographic: Aussies Set To Choose Kmart For Christmas (While 33% Confess They’re Re-Gifters)

A new study into the Christmas shopping habits of Australians has found that Kmart will be our number one retailer of choice this year, with, interestingly, Amazon struggling to rate much of a mention.

The study, by Melbourne customer insights agency Honeycomb, involved the responses of 1000 Aussies and their festive shopping habits. It found 55 per cent said they’d do some of their shopping at Kmart, while only 12 per cent planned to use the newly launched online shopping site, Amazon.

It was also good news for the other budget department stores with 51 per cent saying they planned to shop at Target and 48 per cent heading to Big W.

It’s also clear that we prefer our dogs to our work mates, with 18 per cent saying they’d buy a gift for a pet and only 10 per cent saying they’d get something for a colleague.

We’re also a nation of re-gifters, with a third confessing they’d pass off an unwanted present to someone else. Check out the full results in the infographic below:
