An AI-Generated J.Lo Stars In Wonderful Spoof Spot For Branson’s Adults-Only Virgin Voyages
Sir Richard Branson’s adult-only cruise line Virgin Voyages has wheeled out none other than the mega of megastars Jennifer Lopez to front a new campaign that aims to lure cruising virgins onboard for the first time.
Last year, Lopez (who, at 53, it has be said looks incredible) was named the cruise line’s ‘chief celebrations officer’ and has worked with the brand in marketing and even designing itineraries. Her beauty range, JLo Beauty, is also extensively spruiked to guests on board.
In April 2023, Lopez produced ‘Limitless Voyage’, a Caribbean sailing aboard Scarlet Lady that was billed as a celebration of women and featured a dozen-plus speakers along with special onboard events and shore excursions.
In the new spot, Lopez spoofs AI-generated ads while not really playing herself. It’s arguably somewhat of a step-up from her recent work for Dunkin’ Donuts alongside husband, Ben Affleck.
The spot aims to entice first-time cruisers on-board one of three Virgin Voyages ships to celebrate major events such as anniversaries, big milestone birthdays or even a recent divorce!
Visitors to Virgin Voyages’ website can curate their trips and destinations and then send a specially generated Jen A.I. who will personally invite friends, families or lovers to join them on the particular cruise.
Commenting on the new work, Lopez said: “It’s so important to me that we stop and take time to celebrate special moments in our lives, and encourage others to do the same. If the last few years have taught us anything, it’s how important it is to cherish life’s special moments with your inner circle.”
Sir Richard Branson added: “This extraordinary company was founded on the idea of connecting people and celebrating all of life’s special moments. We want to be the ultimate choice for any kind of celebration travel, and let’s be honest, who can say no to Jennifer?”
Virgin Voyages operates three ships – Scarlet Lady is based at PortMiami and sailing Caribbean itineraries, while Valiant Lady is in the Western Mediterranean, and Resilient Lady is operating a series of Greek Islands cruises.
