Kyle Sandilands and Jackie O Henderson sent the radio world into a spin on Friday, when they both abandoned their show midway through.
Sandilands and Jackie O pulled the plug because their interview with former 2GB King Alan Jones got dumped off the air for twelve agonising minutes.
It was odd because it was unclear why the duo got dumped from the air, considering they were having a fairly mundane chat with Jones.
When they returned to the air, Sandilands said he’d called lawyers, and been advised to stop broadcasting for the day until everyone was back on the same page. He said, his legal team said: “Pull yourself off the air until everyone’s singing from the same hymn book.
PerthNow reported that he said: “I’m turning the microphone off…just until we all know what’s going on here…it’s a mess… I’ll be back Monday and if I’m not back Monday you’ll know that it didn’t work well for me.”
Jackie O added: “How are we ever going to know? Communication is key in these situations.”
Neither returned to the airwaves on Friday leaving a gap in the usual schedule. News.com.au reported that Sandilands joked,“Good morning … Well, we’ve made it back, who would’ve thought?”
This saga comes after Sandilands on-air tirade where he complained about the KIIS team and said: “I am sick and tired of working here.
“Everyone is a loser, except for everyone on this show. Everyone else outside of this show is a massive loser. I am not joking.”
A KIIS spokesperson told B&T, “Kyle was upset about a segment that was dumped on Friday morning and decided to give himself and the team an early mark. The guys were back on air from 6 am this morning.”
