Consumer Affairs Victoria (CAV) is out to educate 13-25 year olds about their consumer rights with a game, created by Bliss Media, called ‘Party for your Rights’.
‘Party for your Rights’ takes place across four party scenes and asks players to select the goods appropriate for the scenarios and to work out what their rights for each item is.
The campaign is based on insights from the 2011 Australian Consumer Survey which found one in four youth aged between 16 and 24 rated their understanding of their consumer rights as minimal or non-existent.
Phong Ho, MD of Bliss Media, said: “We knew the most important thing when trying to reach an audience of 13-25 year olds was that the concept was something they could relate to. As they’re a very savvy audience, it had to be fun, and have a sense of humour, along with carrying a message. This is why the Party for Your Rights concept, and the early 90’s graphic style, works so well.”
