House Rules pushes closer to The Voice

The unveiling of the latest reno added fuel to Seven’s House Rules last night but the program could not muster enough steam to beat rival reality show The Voice.

Nine’s The Voice won top spot last night pulling in 1.684 million viewers, according to OzTam’s preliminary metro ratings.

House Rules was hot on The Voice’s heels as 1.487 million people tuned into the reveal episode on Monday night.

The reality formats had viewers glued to the idiot box last night with all but one top 10 program pulling in less than one million viewers.

Ten’s MasterChef Australia was a distant third in the reality race at 7.30pm, with 739,000 less sets of eyeballs then House Rules and 936,000 less than The Voice.

The cooking competition was Monday night’s 17th most watched show overall with 748,000 viewers.

Nine won the evening overall with a total 32% share of all free-to-air viewers. Its main channel won 25.5%.

Seven was in close second on a combined 30.9% with 23.8% of that going to its primary channel.

Ten did not make it to the podium with the ABC nabbing third place with a total 19.1% share. ABC1 had 14.4% of all FTA viewers.

In fourth place Ten was left with a total 13.7% with just 9.1% for its primary channel.

SBS sat on 4.3% with 3.3% going to SBS ONE.
