Thursday TV Wrap: MasterChef’s Heston Blumenthal Ep Tops The Entertainment Rankings

In a slow night for entertainment telly, MasterChef led the pack with 570,000 viewers according to OzTAM’s metro data.

The first immunity challenge of the season saw experimental chef Heston Blumenthal task the contestants with creating a dessert out of popular breakfast foods. If the sound of avocado ice cream tickles your tastebuds, Thursday night’s episode was definitely not to be missed.

After last week’s Gogglebox finale, the entertainment programming was somewhat lean, with other highlights including Home and Away at 523,000 viewers and The Chase with 473,000. Hot Seat had 448,000.

Dominating the top of the ratings was news, with Seven News at 968,000 viewers while Nine News had 906,000. ABC News took third spot with 627,000 viewers, beating A Current Affair, which had 618,000

The rest of the ABC’s night had Back Roads at 415,000 viewers, while Seven’s The Front Bar had 344,000 and The Latest: Seven News had 335,000.

For 10, The Project scored a neat 400,000 viewers while 10 News First had 344,000. Not quite as big a ratings hit as Oprah’s Meghan and Harry interview, royal doco William and Catherine: Saving The Crown netted 336,000 viewers.

Finally, Nine’s programming also included Thursday night’s NRL game which saw the Rabbitohs beat the Canberra Raiders to 334,000 viewers.

Seven (all channels) won the night with 28 per cent of the daily share, while Nine (all channels) had 26 per cent of the share.

Network 10 came in third with 20 per cent, followed by the ABC TV Network with 15 per cent and the SBS Network with eight per cent.
