Miami Ad School Sydney today announced that Gennie Siegel won the Top Dog award for her outstanding performance in the school’s spring Strategic Planning boot camp.

Siegel, who is currently working remotely as a brand strategist for film and TV streaming platform Hieronyvision, in Los Angeles said the bootcamp had provided a “unique” and “valuable” inside look into the creative agency world.

“Being taught by the best in the game created opportunities to get insight from those who are leading and transforming the industry,” Siegel said.

“They pushed us to think differently about the world and what’s going on around us, allowing for the smallest ideas to grow into amazing learning experiences.

“Each class was collaborative and thought provoking, and my fellow students inspired and challenged each other to create the best work we could. I feel so fortunate that this is only the beginning of our Planning careers together.”

Jenny Mak, group creative director, Ogilvy, and Heather Sheen, planning partner, DDB who together taught the weekly Pitch class added: “In a year full of uncertainty, there’s one thing we know for sure—the future of the industry looks bright after spending the last few months with this semester’s Miami Idea School students.

“Taking part in an intensive course like Miami Idea School is always demanding, and this year was no exception with the additional anxiety caused by COVID-19.

“We were so impressed by the enthusiasm displayed by all of the students throughout the course and everybody showed incredible improvement week to week. The calibre of students was outstanding, so Gennie Siegel should be very proud of herself for taking out this year’s title of ‘Top Dog’.”

The boot camp concludes this week with students presenting their portfolio to decision makers of Sydney’s leading advertising agencies.

Miami Ad School’s 12-week boot camps are designed to train its participants in strategy as well as creative skills to meet the industry’ increasing demand for hybrid roles.

The classes are taught by senior strategists and creatives from Sydney’s leading agencies. The Strategic Planning boot camp’s instructors include:
