Santa Ends Up On The Psychiatrist’s Couch In Truly Nutty Spot For The Norwegian Postal Service

UK retailer John Lewis may be the brand to watch at Christmas, however, it must be said The Norwegian Postal Service (Posten) is starting to give it a run for its money when it comes to epic festive spots.

Last year, Norway’s postal service shocked everyone when its 2019 Christmas spot inferred that baby Jesus was fathered by the postman. Read B&T’s original reporting here.

Come 2020 and the lunacy is back, this time poor old Santa’s on the psychiatrist’s couch, worried he’s become an out-of-date old white man.

The clever spot’s the work of creative agency POL. Commenting on the work, Monica Solberg, marketing director at Posten said: “Last year we started a new tradition at Posten, looking into Christmas institutions and folklore from other quirkier angles. Posten’s take on The Christmas Gospel created so much attention around the Globe, that we wanted to follow up in a similar fashion. This year we have dug into Santa’s unknown life. We love Santa Claus and Christmas. Apparently, he doesn´t love us back.”
