It’s Off The Crisper Sale! Introducing KFC’s New Original Crispy Burger Series

The new original crispy burger series, which has been double breaded for the ultimate crispy bite, will be a permanent feature on the KFC menu.

Aussies can get their hands on the original crispy burger for free this week at ‘The Original Crispery’, a KFC pop-up experience where everything is double breaded and fried. Yes, everything.

As the crisp autumn weather sets in and the joys of summer depart, and you find yourself thinking “What is there to look forward to?” Well, let the Colonel take you on a taste and texture journey with the latest (and possibly greatest); the new original crispy burger series. There are few things better than KFC’s crispy golden fried chicken, except perhaps that very same chicken inside a burger. But wait, KFC is bringing out crispier fried chicken? How have they made it so crispy? How is this possible? All great questions that have one crunchy and delicious answer: The chicken is double breaded, of course.

The original crispy burger series will be a permanent addition to KFC menus around the country and they’re arriving in stores on Tuesday 14th May. The burger series, which includes the original crispy, the original crispy cheese and bacon and the original crispy stacker, have been crafted by KFC chefs to feature a swirl of creamy mayonnaise on top of a succulent, juicy, original crispy chicken fillet. The fillet itself, has been expertly plunged into breading, not once, but twice, to ensure a satisfying crunch with every bite, that will leave taste buds wondering why you haven’t treated them to this level of deliciousness before.

To celebrate the launch of these culinary masterpieces, Sydneysiders can get their hands on the original crispy burger for free this Friday and Saturday, as Kentucky Fried Chicken presents ‘The Original Crispery’ – a pop-up where KFC has tested the limits on what can be crispified with the entire menu being nothing short of extra crispy.

Everything on offer will be double breaded in KFC’s signature cooking craft, creating moments of fried perfection. From a fluffy cheesecake to green chips aka broccolini and asparagus (if only all veggies tasted this damn good), to the classic lunch treat: the peanut butter and jam sandwich, that has a gooey interior and crispy exterior along with additional surprise items that will get you drooling. Fans will be able to taste some of the wildest and crispiest KFC creations ever, which are designed to prove once and for all that everything tastes better double breaded. Extra crispy.

“To mark the launch of our new series of original crispy burgers, it was only appropriate to create an emporium of all things crispy. ‘The Original Crispery’ promises to be an avalanche on the senses. It will include an exhibition of crispy curiosities, as well as a selection of KFC-ified products, where our talented chefs will put our double breading craft to the test across a range of unexpected yet craveable treats for all fans to taste,” said Tami Cunningham, CMO KFC Australia.

Just like the Colonel’s 11 herbs and spices, there are some secrets we like to keep up our sleeve. To find out what else is on the menu, hungry fans should head to ‘The Original Crispery’ on Friday 17th May and Saturday 18th May, to claim their free OC burger and to experience a range of off-menu items with a KFC twist.
