In The Making – a rising star of the Brisbane PR, Content and Digital scene – has established its Melbourne office in response to new client wins.

The move comes as In The Making is appointed by thrift store powerhouse, Savers Australia, and also extends its contract with another Melbourne brand, BOUNCE Inc.

Launched in June 2021 by Frances (Frankie) Milvydas, the PR agency went full-service early last year by bringing on Georgia Bainbridge to head up its Digital and Content division.

Chief Maker, Frankie, said opening In The Making Melbourne had become another inevitable milestone in the agency’s organic growth, which she still affectionately dubs a “happy accident.”

“Since first opening our doors, In The Making has executed national remits for clients operating all over the country, including Victoria. Our team also brings decades of experience working with big brands nationwide. Combine that and it makes perfect sense to invest in a Melbourne office and team,” Frankie said.

“Our priority is to give our clients the best experience possible and for many, that’s increased face-to-face time and on-the-ground agility.

Opening in Melbourne has also allowed us to tap into greater pools of talent, which means we’ve been able to stack our (already amazing) team with the best of the best, including two new hires – Account Manager Annabelle McIntyre and Junior Graphic Designer Chelsea Marchment,” she said.

Savers Australia Managing Director Michael Fisher said In The Making earned its social media retainer, alongside a significant PR project, through a robust competitive pitch.

“The thrift market is set to grow three times faster than traditional retail, so we needed an agency partner that understood our heritage but could help elevate us through an ambitious growth period,” Mr Fisher said.

“A three-round pitch process showed us that In The Making’s strategic thinking and creative experience was the best fit for Savers’ exciting future direction,” he said.

This sentiment was shared by BOUNCE Inc. Co-Founder and Managing Director Ant Morell who said In The Making proves that boutique agencies can deliver big results for them and other major players like them.

A Melbourne native, Georgia has returned to Victoria’s capital to oversee In The Making’s southern expansion, she said: “As soon as word got out about us opening in Melbourne, my phone has been ringing off the hook with new business opportunities.”
