Attention Slack Addicts! Slack Launches Limited Edition Shoes

If you’re not already spending enough time on the workplace messaging service, you can now get Slack on your feet.

Yes, really.

The messaging app has teamed up with shoemaker Cole Haan to create a limited-edition sneaker collection, coming in four styles which display the Slack logo.

Just to keep it even more on brand, Cole Haan said the product was designed “with the Slack crew, over Slack”.

The shoemaker added that the idea the create the shoe was inspired by “the pandemic-related rise of remote working”, which has seen channels like Slack replace human-to-human interaction at many companies around the world.

“Collaboration is key to bringing any  product to life and it’s especially  rewarding when it’s a product we can
physically see,” said Slack CMO Julie Liegl.

“We’re honored that  Cole Haan chose Slack as its collaboration  hub to develop innovative creations  like the Generation ZERØGRAND.”

Cole Haan has recently been moving to attract a younger, more active customer base.

Earlier this year the the company announced it was launching the ZERØGRAND running shoe – marking its first move into athletic performance.

The shoe is designed for “for the active lives of young professionals—whether it’s a 5-mile run or a 9-hour workday”.

Strangely, it is not the first time a tech company has launched branded footwear.

Apple launched a pair of limited edition sneakers back in the 90s, which according to reports, recently sold for over $10,000.
