Whitehat Agency Signs Layne Beachley & Coogee Bay Hotel

Surry-hills based digital marketing agency, Whitehat Agency, has announced two new client wins, welcoming Layne Beachley to the fold as she launches her new self-empowerment platform, Awake Academy, as well as the iconic Coogee Bay Hotel.

Layne selected Whitehat to bring her online platform to life, with Whitehat providing a full suite of services from brand development, website design, video production and content creation through to digital marketing and PR.

“I’ve been delivering face-to-face workshops for many years, and often at the end of the day we’ll have participants say, but wait, we need more! Don’t leave us hanging!” explained Layne. “So the idea behind Awake Academy was, in a way, to digitise me – my experiences, lessons, truths – and package it into an online platform that people can access in their own time.”

For the Coogee Bay Hotel, Whitehat is building a new e-commerce website for Coogee Bay Barrel, the group’s retail liquor store which specialises in boutique and small batch wines, craft beers and spirits from across the A/NZ region. The new e-commerce site will see Coogee Bay Barrel enter the lucrative online alcohol market, competing against the likes of Dan Murphy’s, BWS and Liquorland.

Matt Fitzgerald, Off Premise Manager of the Coogee Bay Hotel said, “Coogee Bay Barrel is the home of Australia and New Zealand’s best boutique wines, beers and spirits. Our team has always been incredibly passionate about our products and providing exceptional convenience – by pivoting into the online space we are excited to provide an additional layer of convenience and allow more Aussies to tap in to our unique product range. We selected Whitehat as they showed a high level of passion for the project and really know their stuff when it comes to e-commerce.”

Whitehat will also redesign the current Coogee Bay Hotel website.

Shuey Shujab, CEO of Whitehat Agency, said, “We’re super pumped to be working with Layne as she launches her new venture – she’s an absolute Aussie icon and we’re proud to be helping her to share her expertise in the areas of mental health and wellbeing. And the Coogee Bay Hotel holds a special place in the hearts of many Sydney-siders – it’s an icon in its own right! We’re looking forward to helping Coogee Bay Barrel capitalise on the boom that we’ve seen in e-commerce thanks to the COVID pandemic, and become a competitive player in the online alcohol market.”
