Ogury Expands Into Asia-Pacific With New Sydney Office

Ogury, the creator of the first advertising engine driven by user choice, announced the opening of its office in Sydney, expanding its business to Australia and New Zealand. Chris Manson will lead operations to grow Ogury’s Asia-Pacific footprint.

Ogury was founded on a mission to establish a new trusted advertising ecosystem, driven by user choice. In Australia and New Zealand, Ogury will help brands and publishers rid themselves of toxic data, collected or used without the explicit permission of the consumer, and shady advertising. Ogury Advertising Engine, an integrated stack of technology, from consent management to user engagement, is designed and optimized for branding campaigns on mobile. It uses safe data to deliver ads in a brand safe and fraud-free environment. Since launching in 2014, the company has grown rapidly in 10 countries, serving 1500 brands, 3500 publishers, and its technology is now integrated in 10000 apps.

The new office opening in Sydney is key to the company’s expansion in Asia, which started in September 2019 with a first office in Singapore. Chris Manson (main photo) has been appointed as the Managing Director (MD) of Australia and New Zealand, to lead all ANZ operations from the Sydney office. Manson has more than 15 years of experience in media sales and advertising. He has held leadership and strategic marketing roles for 10 years in media agencies UM and Bohemia, where he successfully executed media strategies for many of the largest brands in Australia. Prior to joining Ogury, Manson had been leading one of the industry’s top digital sales teams for New South Wales and Queensland at the REA Group.

At Ogury, Manson will build a team of sales and customer success roles to support operations in the Australian and New Zealand markets. The efforts will be put into providing brands and publishers with unique and actionable insights on local consumers and set them for upcoming regional data protection legislations.

“Concerns over data protection and privacy are increasing in Asia Pacific. By joining Ogury, a scale-up with a proven track record and success across the globe, I felt I could be part of a unique company with the ability to solve the challenges our industry is facing,” said Chris Manson. “Australia is an exciting market for mobile advertising as it represents the 4th highest smartphone penetration in the world, with 74 per cent projected penetration in 2021. Today, the Australian advertising market growth is driven by mobile and video, and Ogury is here to enrich the market with its innovative choice-driven advertising solutions.”

Raphael Rodier, Chief Revenue Officer International at Ogury, commented: “Australia is following Europe’s early move in enforcing stringent regulations on consumer privacy and data protection. Ogury, being at the forefront of these topics since 2014, is equipped to help local brands, publishers and agencies to adhere to the upcoming privacy regulations, bolster or simply restore consumer trust.” He added: “Australia and New Zealand are key strategic markets for Ogury’s continued growth in Asia Pacific and Chris Manson’s considerable experience will lead our progress in the region.”
