Monday TV Wrap: Courtney Act’s Australian Story Does It For ABC, Beats Channel Seven & 10

A good 713,000 Australians tuned in to the ABC’s Australian Story on Shane Gilberto Jenek, or better known under the stage name Courtney Act.

Since appearing on Australian Idol in 2003, Act has gone on to become an international star, appearing on RuPaul’s Drag Race in America, winning Celebrity Big Brother in the UK and coming second on Dancing with the Stars last year in Australia. In this Australian Story episode, Jenek talks candidly — as both Shane and Courtney — about career and identity issues.

The ABC had a good night, beating out Seven and 10 in primary channel share. While Nine won with 22.4 per cent, ABC came second with 16.8 per cent, while Seven and 10 did 16.0 per cent and 13.6 per cent respectively. SBS earned 3.5 per cent in primary channel share.

Over at Nine, its best for the night was MAFS (1.04m), while Seven’s best was Home and Away (579,000). 10’s best entertainment for the night was Survivor (700,000), according to OzTAM metro numbers.

Nine

News did 1.06m, ACA did 848,000, a news special on COVID-19 did 632,000 and Hot Seat did 478,000.

Seven

News did 1.09m, The Chase Australia did 554,000 and MKR did 476,000.

10

The Project did 582,000 and Hughesy We Have a Problem did 293,000.

ABC

News did 856,000, 7.30 did 888,000, Four Corners did 537,000, Media Watch did 579,000 and Q+A did 517,000.

All channels share

Nine won the night across all channels with 29.2 per cent, Seven came second with 23.2 per cent, ABC did 22.1 per cent, 10 did 19.4 per cent and SBS did 6.0 per cent.

  1. Nine – 32.4 per cent
