The Australian Association of National Advertisers (AANA) announced today that Peter Horgan, CEO, Omnicom Media Group (OMG) Australia and New Zealand, and Chair of the Media Federation of Australia (MFA), has joined its Board as an Industry Member Director.

The AANA’s Chair, Martin Brown, welcomed Peter’s appointment and said he would bring a valuable perspective to the Association as it continued to evolve the self-regulatory system.

“I am delighted that Peter will be joining the AANA Board. He brings with him close on 20 years’ experience in senior executive positions in the media services industry.

“As Chair of the Media Federation, Peter has also been highly supportive of closer ties across industry bodies and transparent practice in how clients deploy significant marketing investment,” Brown said.

OMG is the media services division of Omnicom Group Inc, the leading global advertising, marketing and corporate communication company.

Horgan was appointed CEO of OMG in 2016, managing over 900 people across all Omnicom’s media services brands. He was appointed Chair of the MFA in March 2014.

He said: “I’ve been very impressed with the collaborative approach the AANA has shown on a range of important industry issues, including partnering with the MFA and IAB to arrive at a common set of best-practice operating standards to improve transparency in the digital advertising supply chain to reduce fraud and improve brand safety.

“As custodians of self-regulation, the AANA has delivered a system that enjoys the confidence of the Australian community and one that is highly cost-effective for industry. I look forward very much to working with Martin and the team to help promote the role of effective and sustainable marketing practices.”
